Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes Commander Decks Overview

The Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes Commander decks deliver four ready-to-play preconstructed decks featuring iconic Marvel heroes and villains for Commander, releasing June 26, 2026. These decks bring the power of assembling teams and harnessing villainy to multiplayer Magic: The Gathering, with each 100-card precon including a traditional foil borderless face commander, 10 double-sided tokens, and new-to-Magic cards designed for the format. Officially announced decks include Avengers Assemble, Wakanda Forever, The Fantastic Four, and Doom Prevails, alongside matching Collector's Edition versions featuring surge foil treatments throughout. As of June 5, 2026, face commanders and core themes have been detailed in the official buyer's guide, with dedicated preview streams and full decklists scheduled to roll out starting June 8.

Avengers Assemble

The Avengers Assemble deck is led by Captain America, Team Leader as its face commander in Jeskai (white-blue-red) colors, with Director Nick Fury available as an alternate commander. The confirmed strategy focuses on assembling a mass of Hero creatures, supported by Equipment and +1/+1 counters to build an aggressive team that gains vigilance and haste for combat. This approach emphasizes Hero tribal synergies and counter strategies that integrate with cards from the main Marvel Super Heroes set. Players can expect a proactive, combat-oriented game plan centered on overwhelming opponents with coordinated heroic forces. More cards, specific synergies, and the full decklist will be revealed during the dedicated preview stream on June 8.

Wakanda Forever

T'Challa, the Black Panther serves as the face commander for the Wakanda Forever deck in Selesnya (white-green) colors, with Shuri, the Black Panther as an alternate. This precon introduces Magic's first preconstructed green-white artifact strategy, centered on accelerating toward an army of artifacts and indestructible Vibranium artifact tokens. These tokens tap to produce colorless mana restricted to casting artifacts and activating abilities, while the commander grows through artifact plays and can enable monarch or counter strategies. The deck rewards building a technological arsenal and leveraging token generation for board presence and mana acceleration. Additional cards and full decklist details remain forthcoming in upcoming previews.

The Fantastic Four

Mister Fantastic headlines The Fantastic Four deck as a four-color commander, with other members of Marvel's First Family—The Thing, Invisible Woman, and Human Torch—able to serve as alternate commanders. The confirmed strategy revolves around a four-color spellslinging approach that emphasizes noncreature spells to empower the team before combat, followed by copying key triggered abilities for repeated value. This setup allows flexible leadership among the iconic heroes while focusing on spell synergy and ability duplication to control the board and generate advantage. As one of the more complex precons in the lineup, full card reveals and detailed play patterns are expected during the June 9 preview stream.

Doom Prevails

Doctor Doom, King of Latveria leads the Doom Prevails deck as its face commander in Grixis (blue-black-red) colors, with Loki, the Deceiver available as an alternate. The strategy harnesses villainy through connive mechanics and life-drain effects, enabling players to discard resources like lands to drain opponents while granting Villains menace and efficiently navigating the deck. This villain-focused approach blends disruption, incremental damage, and self-mill or discard synergies for a controlling yet aggressive multiplayer plan. Dedicated previews for this deck are scheduled for June 10. Preview season is still ongoing, full decklists are still being revealed, and this page will be updated as new information drops.
