Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Commander decks got their First Look from Wizards of the Coast — here's everything officially revealed so far ahead of the November 13, 2026 release. Timed to Star Trek's 60th anniversary, the set spans the entire franchise, from the Original Series through the modern era, and Wizards says it was designed by Star Trek fans, for Star Trek fans. Judging by the early reveals, they mean it.

Four Star Trek Commander Decks Confirmed

The headline for Commander players: four preconstructed decks, each built around an iconic crew or faction. Federation Fleet puts Jean-Luc Picard at the helm with a starship theme, Landing Party beams down with Spock and a lands-matter plan, Klingon Fury sends Worf swinging at the entire table at once, and We Are The Borg assimilates opposing creatures under the Borg Queen. A Collector's Edition of all four decks in full Surge Foil was also confirmed, alongside Play and Collector Boosters, two Bundles, a Beginner Box, a Draft Night box, and two Scene Boxes.

New Mechanics and Teaser Cards

The First Look showed off two new mechanics: dilemma, which triggers whenever you cast a modal spell, and Federation, which scales with the number of creature types among your non-Borg creatures. Spacecraft and station return from Edge of Eternities, the Borg bring an assimilate ability, and seven actors — including William Shatner and Kate Mulgrew — signed the set's Headliner cards.
