Four three-color precons with 32 new cards apiece, plus a cycle of mono-colored captains already revealed. This is the Commander half of the release: everything here is legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage, none of it is Standard-legal, and it ships November 13, 2026 alongside the main set.

Four Decks, Four Factions

The First Look named all four decks and showed their faces, though the decklists themselves are still unpublished:

Federation Fleet — Jean-Luc Picard, white-blue-red. Card draw and Spacecraft, charging starships with station.
Landing Party — Spock, green-white-blue. Landfall and a lands-matter plan.
Klingon Fury — Worf, red-white-black. Attack every opponent at once and get stronger for doing it.
We Are the Borg — the Borg Queen, white-blue-black. Assimilate opposing creatures and turn them into Borg artifacts.

Each deck is 100 cards with a traditional foil borderless face commander, 32 new-to-Magic cards, and ten tokens. A Collector's Edition of each deck reprints all 100 cards in surge foil at roughly double the price.

What Is on the Page Right Now

The cards revealed so far are the simple, mono-colored designs built for the set's beginner products, not the precons. The centerpiece is a cycle of five mythic captains, one per color: Picard, Steadfast Captain, Spock, Logical Choice, Borg Queen, Perfection Manifest, Kirk, Enterprising Captain, and Benjamin Sisko, Besieged. Picard costs {4} {W} {W} and drops two +1/+1 counters on another creature whenever he enters or attacks; the Borg Queen is the card Wizards used to introduce assimilate. Around them sit the Starfleet crew, Klingon warriors, and Borg drones that fill out those starter decks.

Dates and What Comes Next
