Organizing Decks with Folders and Tags

Folders and tags solve different problems. Folders organize your decks against each other, in the sidebar of the deck builder. Tags organize the cards inside one deck, in that deck's editor. They never interact, and a tag made in one deck does not exist in another.

Folders

The Folders section of the deck builder sidebar starts empty. The + beside the heading makes a New Folder; drag a deck onto one to file it. Folders belong to you and are not visible to anyone browsing your decks.

Right-click a folder, or use its ... button, for the rest:

• Rename — edits the name in place.
• New Subfolder — nests one level down.
• Move to Folder — opens a Move Folder picker: choose where it should go, then Move.
• Change Color — a grid of thirty swatches, a custom color input, and an ✕ to clear it. The color shows on the folder and on its tiles.
• Delete — removes the folder only.

Two levels, and what delete does

Nesting stops at two levels: folders at the root, and one layer of subfolders inside them. A subfolder cannot hold another subfolder, and dragging one somewhere that would make a third level is refused rather than flattened.

Deleting a folder never deletes a deck. Its decks move back to the top level and its subfolders are reparented to whatever contained the folder you deleted.

Drag a folder to reorder it among its siblings or to drop it inside another folder. Folders with children get a chevron that collapses them, and the collapsed state is remembered in that browser. The breadcrumb above the deck grid always shows where you are, from All Decks down through the folder you have open.

Tags

Tags live inside a single deck's editor and label cards rather than decks. A card can carry several tags at once — a card can be both Ramp and Flex.

Right-click a card and open Tags for a checkbox per existing tag, plus a box that creates a tag and applies it in one step. Manage Tags opens the full list, where each tag can be renamed, recolored from a twelve-swatch palette, or deleted, and shows how many cards carry it.

Sorting and filtering by tag

Choosing Tag in the first sort dropdown groups the deck by tag instead of by type or mana value. A card with two tags appears under both, and everything untagged collects in an Untagged group at the bottom. Filter by Tag narrows the view to one tag.

In list view, each card's tags trail its name as small colored pills.

Tags in bulk, and in and out of the app

Tags use the same #hashtag notation Moxfield does, at the end of a card line:

That works in three places. Pasting a decklist with hashtags on import creates the tags and applies them. The bulk edit box shows and accepts them, so you can retag a whole deck as text. Exporting a deck writes them back out, which means a tagged deck survives a round trip through Moxfield.

Tags are part of a deck's saved versions, so restoring an old version restores the tags as they were, and duplicating a deck copies its tags with it.
