Importing a Commander Precon into the Deck Builder

Every Commander precon on Nerd Leagues imports into your deck builder in one step — as a brand new deck, or merged into a deck you already have. The button is on the precon's decklist page, next to Copy Decklist.

Where the import button is

Open any deck from the Commander Precons hub and look above the card grid: Copy Decklist puts the list on your clipboard as plain text, and Add to Deck Builder opens the import panel. Importing needs an account — clicking it while signed out sends you to sign in and returns you to the same precon afterwards.

The three modes

• Create New Deck — the whole precon becomes a new deck in your collection.
• Add All Cards — every card goes into a deck you already have.
• Add Missing Cards — only the cards that deck does not already have.

Creating a new deck from a precon

Create New Deck shows a confirmation step first: the deck name, prefilled with the precon's name and editable, then the format (Commander), the commander — both of them if the precon ships a pair — the card count, and the set it came from. Create Deck builds it.

The commander lands in the deck's commander zone rather than the main list, and the deck's colors are worked out from the cards themselves. New precon imports are created private, unlike decks you start by hand, which default to public — change it in the deck's settings if you want it listed publicly.

Merging a precon into a deck you already have

Add All Cards and Add Missing Cards both open a picker of your own decks, searchable by name, each row showing its format, colors, and card count. Pick one and run it. If that deck has no commander set yet, the precon's commander becomes it.

The two modes handle overlap differently, which matters for a deck that already shares cards with the precon:

• Add All Cards bumps the quantity when the exact same printing is already in the deck. A different printing of the same card comes in as its own entry.
• Add Missing Cards matches on card name, so any printing you already have counts as present and is skipped. The result reports both numbers: how many cards were added and how many were already there.

After the import

The panel confirms what happened — the deck created and its card count, or the added and already-in-deck counts — and offers Open in Deck Builder, which goes straight to the deck. Everything is editable from there: cut the filler, add your own cards, and the original precon page stays untouched for reference.
